This bio sponge filter is the optimal water filtration system for aquariums and ensures proper oxygenation for a clear and healthy aquarium. It also provides both mechanical and biological filtration and comes with detachable parts which are easy to install and use. The good bacteria will thrive on the large surface area of the ribbed sponges to help break down waste and impurities to ensure optimum water quality. Please note this aquarium filter must be operated by an air pump (5W and above) with a 4mm air hose. Both of these are not included. Please select a powerful enough air pump according to your aquarium size. Sponge and Bio Media Replacement It is recommended to replace the sponge and bio ceramic balls every 6-8 months depending on how worn the sponge becomes. Direction of Use Assemble the sponge filter, easy to filter. Use the water from your aquarium (externally) to wash the sponges. Do not rinse in tap water. Equip the filter with an with an air pump (sold separately) with a 4mm airline hose. Affix to your fish tank using the 2 provided suction cups. Maintenance Cleaning Remove and clean the sponges monthly according to the conditions of your aquarium. Wash the filter with aquarium water only, as tap water may destroy the friendly bacteria living on the surface of the sponge. Dimensions Small filter = 15cm width x 23-33cm height and is recommended for 45L 150L fish tanks. Medium filter = 16cm width x 23-33cm height and is recommended for 70L 210L fish tanks.
